Losing It?

So this is my first blog. Maybe it was brought on by a panic attack. Anyway, here is my story - I may need your advice at the end.
So, I was in Canadian Wholesale the other day just to get some pictures printed. What is important here is that I like to embrace some of the new clothing styles and I like my high heels. I was waiting in line for the photo kiosk while some other customers decided to print 200 photos onto a CD. Needless to say, I had some waiting time ahead of me. I didn't want to wander too far so as not to lose my place in line so I looked at some books that were close by and so on and so forth. About 10 minutes into my waiting time an elderly man walked by and said "hi". Um, ok, I said hi just to be polite. Well, little did I know this would start something I still have a hard time shaking off - blahgh (you must say that with phlem in your throat).
A few minutes later I see this man coming towards me and I pretend to be interested in some product just down the aisle so I walk toward this product and honestly I don't know what I was looking at but I just had a bad feeling toward what was about to happen. "Mam" - my stomach knotted - I turn around and there he is. A plaid shirt, faded jeans (with suspenders attached), scary eyebrows. " I just wanted to tell you that I couldn't help but notice your beautilful shoes" I'm thinking "really - a man of your age noticed my shoes?" 'Thanks", I say. "As soon as I walked in the store and looked your way I told myself that that is a beautiful woman" At this point I'm choking on my words, " Why thank you" I thought he would excuse himself and walk away but nooooooo, in the next few minutes to follow he managed to get my name and where I lived - I laid awake last night regretting that, thinking he would show up on my doorstep. This elderly man attempted to put on the charm and in the two minutes managed to tell me how beautiful I was several more times. (Please go away!!) Finally it was my turn at the kiosk. I quickly excused myself and he went back to the pharmacy department. whew! Oh, wait he's back, "Carol - he knows my name, unfortunately, "I just wanted to ask you if you would, when you leave, walk around this aisle. (This would mean that I would take the long way out of the store and walk by where he was waiting for his perscription ) - so he could check me out!!! OMG now I am totally creeped out! I let out a "haha" and kept pushing the buttons on the photo machine hoping he would walk away - and he did. Oh, wait, he's back - AGAIN!! "Um, Carol, I got my perscription and I have to leave now so it was nice meeting you" Before he could tell me one more time how beautiful I was I said " Goodbye" and pushed more buttons.
Since that moment I have been trying to process this whole encounter. Do I really look that old? Should I get facelift or will that just invite more old men my way? I think I need some advice or encouragement here girlfriends. HELP!!

  2. what is it with this town? I was hit on at the library a few weeks ago and Dani was hit on at work yesterday by a creepy guy that kept trying to hug her. Ewwww. No, Carol, you don't need a facelift but I wouldn't go to the wholesale any time soon :)

  3. No facelift, but just be harsh next time someone like that starts creeping on you. You don't look old at all. That's why he was hitting on you. Cuz he's SICK.
